Well, most of the time
It all starts with a sketch. After doing the necessary research I begin drawing the line art and refining it until I am happy, sometimes going through several iterations. After this, I photocopy the line art and try out different shading techniques and lighting until I find one I am happy with.
After finding a final sketch I can work with, I scan it into my PC and then take the image into Photoshop or Illustrator where I turn the sketch into a digital image and add a little bit more refinement e.g proportions and symmetry whenever it's necessary.
After it becomes a digital piece, I begin experimenting a little bit.
Trying out different colour schemes, seeing how they work in different backgrounds and environments...
At this stage I add a little bit of detail and a few final touches.
